Kogi State Election Governoship Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja has fixed tomorrow, Saturday to deliver judgement.
According to the Tribunal, The Petition No EPT/KG/GOV/06/2019 Between MUSA ATAYI WADA&Anor. V. INEC&2Ors seeking to determine the winner of the Kogi Governoship election has been slated for Judgment on Saturday the 23rd day of May, 2020. 10am at the Federal High Court Headquarters Maitama Abuja.
The questions on the lips of Kogi People is whether the Peoples Democratic Party would stop Gov. Bello, question Hon. Kingsley Fanwo and Hon. Asiwaju Idris Asiru say is impossible. The predict a straight win for the governor, insisting that the elecElec were free and fair.
Since the release of the date, fear, apprehension and anxiety seems to have gripped the two camps of Engr. Wada and Gov. Bello of what the likely outcome would be.
The PDP is seeking to stop the declaration that Gov. Yahaya Bello is Governor, insisting that the Election was marred by widespread irregularities.
The APC is however not taken the allegations with kids gloves described the PDP as a bad loser after lossing woefully the last election.
The Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Bello, says his party and the governor, would emerge victorious, maintaining that the election was free fair and credible.

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is one politician in Nigeria who has demonstrated the true knowledge of Nigerian politics despite joining active politics in 2015.
Many Nigerians especially Kogites believed Yahaya Bello will not survive the legal battle orchestrated by the governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party, SDP, Barr. Natasha Akpoti at the Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja.
Natasha who hails from the same senatorial district with Yahaya Bello in Kogi Central had a good case at the Tribunal. In a petition No. EPT/KG/GOV/07/2019, Natasha Akpoti who was the second runner up at the November 16 governorship election in Kogi State prayed that the Tribunal should nullify the election of Governor Yahaya Bello and order for fresh election.
Natasha Akpoti’s case gained more recognition and media coverage when she presented two contradicting statement of oaths belonging to the state Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja at the Tribunal and argued that the Deputy Governor manipulated his age.
Akpoti’s lawyer, Ola Olanipeku, SAN, had argued Edward Onoja’s statement of oath in the affidavit he submitted to INEC showed he was born 9th-8- 1975 whole his credential at GTB he worked showed 9th August 1974.
The allegation of falsification was the major evidence of the SDP candidate and many Nigerians believed Governor Yayaha Bello’s election wouldn’t escape being nullified.

While many Nigerians who have been following the case expect to hear another turn of event in Kogi State, the three man panel Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal headed by Justice Kashim G. Kaigama delivered judgment on Monday May 18, a judgment that will go down as the most surprising Tribunal judgment in recent time.
Tribunal did not just dismiss Natasha Akpoti’s case against Yahaya Bello for lack of merit, the Tribunal also ordered her to pay N100,000 fine each to APC and INEC for wasting their time.

The Tribunal judgment has affirmed that Yahaya Bello is an ideal Nigerian politician who doesn’t make too much noise on social media but focused on getting result.
The judgment has showed that Yahaya Bello is unstoppable in Kogi politics and his oppositions might just have to wait till 2023 after his second tenure or join his camp.
Whatever tactics he is using, Bello has proven to have mastered the nature of Nigeria politics and he has not failed to utilize it to his advantage.
